Minervois, Le Bois des Merveilles

Minervois, Le Bois des Merveilles

Equal parts Grenache, Carignan and Mourvedre.

Senat’s première cuvée made from entirely destemmed fruit and spending 15 months in barriques and demi-muids.

Like a deep wood, Senat’s Bois de Merveilles (Wood of Marvels) is richly layered, with texture, aroma and flavor and in spite of its inviting aromatics, it still preserves an element of mystery. It’s predominately dark noted, but somehow remains feminine in character. Wild herbal notes underscore sweet anise, black cherry and intense floral aromatics. On the palate, the wine is plush and richly fruited yet maintains vibrant acidity, a delineated focus, and a well-integrated tannic structure which gently coats the mouth without being too pronounced.
