Pernand Vergelesses 1er Cru, Sous Frétille, 2006

Pernand Vergelesses 1er Cru, Sous Frétille, 2006

Elevated to 1er Cru status in 2000, for whites only, this parcel sits above the village itself, faces directly south, rises to an elevation of 300 metres and enjoys wonderful exposure throughout the entire day. The results: fabulous richness, depth of fruit with complexity and nuance while maintaining fantastic freshness and nervosity.

“Sous Frétille is a relatively recent 1 er Cru. It shows itself here at the height of its production for the parcel. There is everything in this wine: finesse, fruit and minerality, and without forgetting its length, naturally. Its brilliance and its bouquet participate to these compliments in a form of fireworks.”

Le Guide Hachette des Vins, 2008

Of special note concerning the 2006 vintage, consumers will notice a gold decal with reference to the 2008 “Concours des Féminalise.” The second edition of this professional tasting event presented 250 female wine professionals a total 1750 samples submitted from all over France. The tastings were blind with only appellation and vintage revealed. 525 wines were selected as distinguished in their class. Domaine Pavelot’s Sous Frétille was among those chosen and proudly wears the gold decal recognizing this accolade.
